Banking on Beauty

The next time you apply to your bank for a loan you might want to visit the beauty salon beforehand. New research shows that beautiful applicants are 1.41% more likely to get loans - and to add insult to injury (for the 'aesthetically challenged' amongst us) they pay 81 basis points less in interest.

Still, there is some consolation in learning that beautful borrowers are three times as likely to become deliquent (i.e.: miss their repayments) as average lookers.

Of course, some lenders are more influenced by their borrower's beauty than others - and no, it's not the menfolk: women lenders are the prime culprits! And younger lenders rather than older ones.

So if you happen to be one of the beautiful people, you now know who to give your application to.
